About Jasmine

Jasmine Stalker-Firth

Jasmine was born with end-stage renal failure (chronic kidney disease). She was on peritoneal dialysis for 13.5 hours every day which cleared her blood of toxins and took off any excess fluid. Her diet was carefully monitored so that she got everything she needed in order to grow normally and become eligible for a kidney transplant.

Jasmine was in hospital for three months after birth. Then, she was on dialysis at home for 17 months until October 2009, when her father, Neil, gave her a kidney.
